Q; How do I place an Order?
A; The best way to do this is to either call in to our shop in Albany, phone 0800 567 888 and one of our friendly staff will help you or our website.
Q; Where do we deliver to?
A; Auckland is a sameday delivery, North Island townships are generally overnight except weekends. We do not deliver to any Rural address's or the South Island.
Q: Are our Christmas Hams Gluten Free?
A: Yes, all our Freedom Farms, Harmony & Farm Choice hams are Gluten Free.
Q: Are our Hams Organic?
A: Our Harmony and Freedom Farms hams are Free Range or Free Farmed, but unfortunately there are no commercially organic hams available in New Zealand, the cost will be 30 to 40% more.
Q: What does Free Farmed mean?
A: Free Farmed means the pigs are farmed in Eco Barns (open barns) so they can come and go as they please, all SPCA approved the pigs have a happy life without the use of crates or pens.
Q: Are the Hams cooked?
A: Yes, all the hams have been cooked and are ready to eat, most people reheat and glaze their Ham in the oven for extra flavour. (We do have glaze recipes)
Q: Do any of Hams contain Nitrate?
A: Nitrate is a preservative required by New Zealand Food Safety Standards to be present in Hams. Harmony and Freedom Hams use nitrates at less than 8 parts per million. Our Farm Choice hams use a Natural Nitrate from Celery Juice as a natural preservative, so these hams are a good option if you are looking for a Chemical free Ham.
Q: What is a Champagne Ham?
A: Champagne Hams are semi-boneless hams for easy-carving. They have had the centre bone removed and only the Hock end of the ham as a small section of the bone left. These are the most popular hams over past years.
Q: Where are your Hams from?
A: All our hams are farmed and manufactured in New Zealand, under strict MAF & SPCA regulations.
Q: Do you sell glazing kits?
A: Yes, we sell a Maple Syrup and Mustard Glaze kit and an Orange and Mustard Glaze kit.
Q:How do I store my Xmas ham?
- The best way is to remove the ham from it's wrapping and wipe away any residue.
- Mix 2 cups of cold water with 1 tablespoon of white vinegar in a large bowl or lemonade will do the trick as well.
- Soak a cloth ham storeage bag(or a clean pillow slip) in the mixture for 2-3 minutes.
- Squeeze excess moisture from the Ham Bag.
- Place your ham in the Ham Bag and refrigerate.After you have finished slicing your ham always return it to the fridge ..dont leave it sitting on the bench for hours.
Note: It is advisable to repeat steps every 3-4 days. This will ensure that your ham is always fresh and moist.
Q: Are your Turkeys organic?
A: Our turkeys are all free range, but there are currently no commercially available organic turkeys in New Zealand.
Q: Are your turkeys frozen?
A: All Croziers Turkeys are snap frozen after processing. There are a limited amount of fresh Cantervalley turkeys size 3.5 available.
Q: Do your whole turkeys have pop-up timers?
A: Yes, Croziers turkeys from sizes 3.5 – 6.5 do have pop-up timers inserted, and all turkeys have cooking instructions on the bag follow the instructions for the prefect Turkey
Q: Are your turkeys chlorine washed?
A: NO. Croziers turkeys are washed with ozonated water (this is a naturally occurring form of oxygen which sterilises the water and removes any bacteria from the outside of the turkey).
Q: Are your turkeys pre-stuffed?
A: No, our turkeys are not pre-stuffed or basted. However, we do stock stuffing mixes and assorted condiments.
